For those less able to access stairs, Gitcombe House offers full accommodation at ground floor level in the form of a twin bedroom next to a shower and toilet.

Cooking & Dining

Generous, flag-stoned, kitchen/breakfast room (5m x 5m) with bespoke kitchen cupboards, full ‘batterie de cuisine’ and ample catering space for large family groups. Oil fired Aga, along with conventional electric oven and hob. American style fridge-freezer. Granite work tops. Central L-shaped island unit, with overhead hanging pan/utensil unit. Pine dresser, dining table and chairs. Pew bench. Digital radio, Bose iPod docking station further portable station). Walk-in pantry. Shuttered window onto grounds.

For Coffee Machine pods please order or bring compostable ones that are compatible with Nespresso Citi Z & Milk Coffee Machine by Magimi. These can be purchased from Amazon here.

Dining

Beautiful, formal dining room (5m x 5m) with shuttered windows and polished, wooden flooring. Mahogany extending dining table and chairs. Magnificent French chandelier. Open fireplace. Selection of library books. Denon CD player. Beautiful, antique rocking horse for magical rides to wherever the imagination takes you! Suitable for fine dining for up to 14 covers only.

Sleeping

Double beds have luxury, deep, pocket sprung mattresses and rooms have black out blinds.

Bedroom one, fabulously appointed, large proportioned (5.5m x 5m) master bedroom with en-suite. Super king mahogany sleigh bed, with free standing cot. Mahogany wardrobe, easy chair and writing bureau. TV. En-suite with bath and shower attachment, WC, basin and heated towel rail. View to back garden.

Bedroom two, spacious family room (5.5m x 4m) with three single beds. Room for a cot. Overlooks the front garden. Huge wardrobe space! Cast iron fireplace. TV. (Can be made up as one super king and one single bed, by prior request – need two weeks notice).

Bedroom three, smaller bedroom (3.5m x 3m), to front of house, with two single beds and a chest of drawers & TV. (Can be made up into a super king bed by prior request – need two weeks notice).

Bedroom four, large (5m x4m) ) light and airy room with sash windows to two sides, looking over front garden and grounds. White, forged iron, Victorian style “And So To Bed” super king bed with free standing cot.

Bedroom five, spacious room (4.4m x4m) with king size mahogany sleigh bed and room for a cot. Cast iron fireplace. Window to grounds.

Bedroom six, smaller downstairs bedroom (3m x 3m) with two single beds and bedside table.

2 substantial wooden framed cots approx. 121cm x 60 cm (please bring linen).

Sung

On ground floor, with shuttered windows overlooking back garden and grounds. Perfect as a children’s ‘chill out’ room or den! With flat screen TV and DVD player. Selection of adult and children’s games and a wide selection of DVDs.

Generous landing area, with antique Bagatelle table (for guests’ use).

Bathing

Ground floor: shower room with drench head shower, loo, hand basin and heated towel rail.

First Floor: generously proportioned family bathroom to luxuriate in, with cast iron slipper bath, toilet and walk in shower with drench head and hand held shower head. A double sink with large mirror above, along with shaving sockets and storage below. Original cast iron fireplace. Views to grounds. Further, separate loo, across landing, with original, working, ‘thunder box’ WC. Master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom (shower over bath, hand basin and loo).
